Why hello!!

Why hello there, and let me extend to you the grandest of welcomes to my brand-spanking-new blog!  I don't know who my audience will be -- that is if I'm ever graced with one; I fear that with what I'm bound to blabber about I won't have much of a following... Anyway, make what you will of whatever I've posted here; I guarantee you no profundity in any post nor do I deny the possibility that you'll be enlightened beyond your wildest dreams (although don't count on it).  

What it is I'll be posting about is something I'm not yet sure about.  I imagine it will be a collection of crazy ramblings and likely just about anything else that meets this blog's high benchmark  for irrelevance.  There may very well be some short fiction (and maybe poetry?) posted up here now and then.  I haven't the slightest clue.

Well, I haven't much to say right now, but I did stumble upon something pretty neat-o!  Freakonomics author Stephen Dubner has a lot of insight regarding the effect of globalisation on various languages throughout the world.  Interesting indeed; worth a read!
